11th October – CQRS / ES, Gently.
October’s meetup we’ll be looking at the Command Query Segregation Principle (CQRS) and a complementary technique called Event Sourcing for handling data persistence.
Over the past few months, @kevinrutherford and myself (@markkirschstein) have been separately exploring these topics and will be sharing our understanding. This talk is certainly intended as an introduction, don’t expect anything too advanced, we’re still learning too!
Edit:
There will be a coding kata as part of this, remember your laptops! Here’s a description of the kata: StopLossKata.pdf
Common Bar for pre-meet drinks and food at 5:30, Madlab from 6:30.
See you there.
Please note that there will be a coding kata, so bring a laptop. Or bring someone who brings a laptop.

Since I missed any post event breakdown in the pub, I was wondering if my solution on git hub (https://github.com/ihaworth/TrailingStopLoss/blob/ian/src/trailingstoploss/TrailingStopLoss.java) would get the extra marks? If I’ve got it right, I didn’t need to make any trade-offs.
Sorry not to spell it out here… just didn’t want to give any spoilers (details are in the commit comments if anybody’s interested).
