September 13th – Test Drive your own Unit Testing Framework, with Andy Grant

leave a comment »

For September’s meeting, we’ve been inspired by Kent Beck (again), this time from his excellent book, TDD by Example. @graan_jonlo will be looking at starting your own unit testing framework from scratch, and test driving it.

It’s usually considered a bad idea to roll your own framework when plenty already exist, but this session isn’t intended as practise for doing that for your commercial projects. This is a learning exercise to better understand the patterns testing frameworks use.

What to Expect

  1.  A brief introduction into the motivation for the exercise and where to begin
  2. Coding!

This is a practical exercise, so bring a laptop set up to dev in your favourite programming language!

Madlab from 6:30 (starting at 7), Common beforehand.
